Holiday World!!

On June 20, Grandma, my sisters-in-law and I embarked on an adventure to Holiday World with 5 kids---that's one 8-year-old, one almost 9-year-old and one 10-year-old and two! 2-year olds! Everyone had a good time and let's just say that we women heard from muscles that had long been forgotten by the end of the day. For those unfamiliar with Holiday World, it's a theme park and water park in Santa Claus, IN. We try to visit once every summer.
Cole's one chance to drive Grandma without a driver's license
It's the end of the day, but these kids STILL have a lot of energy!
Trying to capture a Kodak moment with 2 independent little girls and 3 boys who are very anxious to get on the first ride. We tortured them by making them sit for this picture shortly after entering the park.
Allison enjoyed riding the fish!
Allison and cousin Isabel really liked being on rides together.Cole discovered there was a train to ride on and he HAD to be in the front.
This picture says it all--if only they made wagons big enough for mommies to be pushed around or take a nap in!

What a difference a year makes!

Another sleepless night, so I am making use of my time by looking at pics of the kids from last June. It's amazing how fast they change. This is a picture of Allison enjoying the teeter-totter and Grandma and Grandpa's house, Cole on his 1st 4-wheeler, the kids playing in little pools in the neighbor's yard and our 1st camping trip. (the cool thing about his 4-wheeler is that we could gear it down AND it had a remote shut-off. VERY COOL!)

We learned a lot about that camping trip--trying to get an 18 mo. old to nap in a camper is not easy or fun, especially when you forget her favorite bear. As you can see in the picture, we tried to make the substitute pumpkin bear make do, but when it came to sleeping she didn't want any part of him. Helpful camping tip #1--don't forget daughter's bedtime bear!

This camping trip also showed us just how good Cole is at riding a 4-wheeler. We went to an ATV park and rode trails created just for 4-wheelers, dirt bikes and other all-terrain vehicles. It was a lot of fun riding as a family--except for Allison. We took turns staying with her at the camper since she's too little to ride. Camping & 4-wheeling has become one of our favorite things to do as a family.

Now, if only the gas prices would come down....

Picture Hodgepodge

Cole's on the orange team in baseball this year. We are having a lot of fun watching his team play this year. Best free entertainment there is!

Allison LOVES to wear my shoes. Her shirt says it all--Drama Queen!

One of the few times I got both of them to stand still long enough outside of the pool at Grandma's house for a picture.

Grandma's lilies make a perfect background with Allison's suit this year!

All the grandkids LOVE the trampoline at Grandma and Grandpa's house.

I have been wanting to create a blog for far-away family & friends to see updates of our kids. Here is the first of (hopefully) many installments!
